Keep Slouchy Beanies From Falling Off -- Invisibly!

Winter is here and for me that means wearing lots of warm hats and beanies. The only problem is when you want to get that slouchy grunge look, sometimes a gust of wind will blow or you find yourself being too awesome and your beanie comes flying off. So to fix that I came up with this super quick way to keep those ears nice and toasty.

All you need is a beanie, two bobby pins, and hair.

Start out by wearing the beanie how you normally do. It doesn't matter if your hair is up or down.

Then, take a bobby pin and pull it apart with your fingers like this.

Gently pull the beanie down over one ear while simultaneously inserting the prongs of the bobby pin in between two spaces in the knitting behind your ear, with the wavy side against your head, in an upward direction, going against the grain of your hair. Like so:

Repeat on other side, and done!

This may take some practice to get it right but the goal is to make the bobby pins sit high enough to catch the right amount of hair while still letting the back fall naturally, giving it that slouched look. You can use as many bobby pins as you need, but I found that two works fine. Just note that adding more will make it more difficult to remove. Also, be careful when removing them so that you don't pull your hair out.

I hope this helps you enjoy wearing beanies throughout this chilly winter and I'm looking forward to bringing you more useful tips and tricks soon!
