Fur-Fighting Quick Fix

This is a pretty common scenario: It's Monday. You're already running late and then get half-way out the door when you notice lint or pet fur on your clothes. You can't find your sticky-roller anywhere or have time to look. Or you found it, but it's out of sheets. Having two cats who produce a hay bale-sized ball of fur per minute, it seems that this is me every time I leave the house without fail. There's 3-month old Delilah who we just adopted in November,

What? I'm innocent!

And Kaos Ham-Sammich, our 5-year-old Norwegian Forest cat, because Winter, is in full bloom. This breed also has a double coat so double-trouble!

Don't look at me! I didn't do anything...

So if you're like me and up to your ears in pet fur, I have a quick solution for you, and it's also reusable! Actually, you'll never need to buy a sticky-roller again. Just grab one of these if you have one laying around:

Or if you don't, go buy some. Velcro hair rollers are pretty inexpensive. You can probably already see where I'm going with this. Put your fingers through the roller and use it like a toilet paper dispenser to roll the velcro roller along the garmet, using some resistance.

Pick up as much pet fur on every side by allowing the roller to turn every once in a while.

Now you should have fur-free clothing. But what about that reusable part? Your clothes no longer have fur but the velcro roller, velcroller, (haha! see what I did there?) is full of fur!

Gross!

Just take the fine-toothed end of a comb and comb the fur off. Hold the comb like you're paring an apple and comb the fur off in sections, while rotating the roller, until you have one big ball of fur. Then just pluck it off and discard. You can also use this method to clean your hair brush!

I hope next time you're needing a fast fur-fixer, you'll remember this life hack and leave the house looking polished and put together. They're small enough you can just throw one of these in your purse or car and you'll always be good to go. ;)
